About

Hi, I’m Elisabeth — a freelance web designer and developer with a background in both engineering and the arts. My journey into web development wasn’t a straight line; it started in mechanical design and evolved into a love for clean code, intuitive interfaces, and the unique intersection of creativity and structure that the web offers.

I’ve always been drawn to solving problems and telling stories — whether through a seamless user journey or a beautifully functional layout. Designing and building websites allows me to do both. I’m based in Illinois, where I work independently with clients across the U.S. and beyond.

I bring over a decade of technical experience to the table, including:

  • Full-stack web development, with projects spanning e-commerce, CMS-driven sites, and custom applications

  • User-centered design, combining modern UI/UX principles with responsive, accessible layouts

  • Engineering precision, from my early career in CAD and optical systems to today’s pixel-perfect front-end work

My tech stack includes HTML, CSS, JavaScript (React, Vue), Python, and tools like WordPress, Drupal and Google Sites. I also have experience working with Kubernetes and Terraform — perfect for clients who want scalable solutions that go beyond just a pretty front end.

Every project starts with listening. I work collaboratively with my clients to understand their goals, values, and audience. Here’s what you can expect when we work together:

  1. Discovery & Planning – We’ll clarify your vision, scope out requirements, and define a timeline and budget.

  2. Design & Prototyping – I’ll create wireframes and mockups to ensure the look and feel align with your brand.

  3. Development – I build responsive, efficient, and future-proof websites using best practices in coding and performance.

  4. Testing & Launch – Before going live, I test everything thoroughly across devices and browsers.

  5. Ongoing Support – Whether you need training, updates, or help down the line, I’m here for long-term partnerships.

I believe in clear communication, clean code, and websites that serve real people. If you’re looking for someone who’s technical but approachable, creative but grounded — let’s talk.
